Wedding Cake

I'm sorry for the bad picture. I could not get a great picture of this card. The card uses Very Vanilla and Basic Black Cardstock. The scallop circle was cut using the Scallops Die Cut. The wedding cake from the stamp set Love & Laughter was inked in Black Staz On and stamped on a vanilla circle that was cut using a circle cutter. Flowers were punched out and added to the cake. The Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch was used on black cardstock for the edges of the embossed vanilla strip. This card uses the  sketch challenge, SQSC23 found here. The vanilla and black on this card gives it a classic look.

Flower Pin and Gift Tin

I wanted to participate in the SRS#108 Picture Inspiration Challenge found here. What I made below is not what I originally had in mind, but I love how it turned out. I had a tin that I covered the bottom portion with designer paper. I tied Lucky Limeade Ruffle Ribbon around the top and added a daisy that I die cut from the Daisy Die. I made a pin to go inside. I cut felt from my Circles Die and then took a 1" piece of jersey fabric and hot glued it to the felt circle while twisting it. The pin can be worn on a shirt, placed on a camera strap slipcover, put on a bag or purse, etc. I hope you enjoy!

I just wanted you to know that I have a Facebook page for my Stamping and Crafting!  You can "like" the page by clicking on the Facebook icon on the side of my blog.

Thanks to all of you for checking out my blog and what I have created!

Color & Sketch Challenge

The color challenge was cQc #121 found here. I used Crumb Cake cardstock for the base and embossed it with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. The scallops were made with Old Olive cardstock punched with the Scallop Border punch. The designer paper is from a retired designer series pack. The flowers were die cut in Riding Hood Red and More Mustard. A button was added with white bakers twine tied in a bow. The color challenge included white, so I did get a little bit of white on it! Brads were added at the bottom. The sketch is FMS#19 which can be found here.

Framelits Birthday

This card uses the Enchantment Designer Paper that is in the sale-a-bration catalog. The base is Soft Suede. The Framelits Label Die was used as well as the Butterfly Embossilits. The Happy Birthday is from the stamp set Curly Cute. Soft Suede ribbon was ruffled in the middle of the card.

I apologize for those of you who checked my blog yesterday for a new post. I had my first sub job yesterday and then my Valentine's Day class last night, so I didn't have time to get this up. I hope to get some stamping done this weekend as there are many challenges that I would like to participate in!  They are fun and if you haven't tried them, give them a shot. They get your creative juices flowing.

Inspired by Nature

The colors on this card are Soft Suede, Pool Party and Lucky Limeade. I really like how these three colors look together!  This card uses the sketch challenge found here at Sketch Frenzy Friday. I colored the flowers from the Inspired by Nature stamp set with markers to get the three colors. The images were stamped on a piece of vanilla cardstock that was was die cut using Framelits. The Pool Party and Soft Suede butterflies were die cut using the Butterfly embossilit and a pearl added to the middle. The sentiment is from a retired stamp set. The buterfly on the end of the sentiment is a brad that can be found in the sale-a-bration catalog.

Thanks for looking!

There are still openings in my Valentine's Day Class on Thursday and Sunday, contact me if you would like to come!

Sale-a-bration!!!

Sale-a-bration begins! One of my favorite items from the sale-a-bration catalog is the Enchantment Designer Paper which is used on this card. And, as most of you know, my other favorite item is the Big Shot.  The Big Shot is not in the sale-a-bration catalog, but it is a good time to buy it since you can get some free items during sale-a-bration. The scallop circle and butterflies were all die cut using the Big Shot. I used an Edgelit and Adorning Accent Embossing Folder to make the cut and embossing on the side. This card uses the sketch challenge from Stamping 411, SCC 239, found here

Birthday Cupcakes

This card was created using the Sketch Challenge on Freshly Made Sketches #18 found here and the Color Challenge, CCMC185, found here at Create with Connie and Mary. Calypso Coral cardstock was used for the base of the card. I embossed it with the Finial Press Embossing Folder. The cupcakes from the stamp set Crazy for Cupcakes were stamped and then colored using blender pens. The colors on the cupcakes are Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, and Pumpkin Pie (substitution for Peach Parfait). Dazzling Diamond Details was added to the cupcakes to add some pizzazz!

Valentine's Day Class Projects

My Valentine's Day Class will be on Thursday, January 26 at 7:00 pm and Sunday, January 29 at 1:30 pm.  If you are able to make it to one of these times, please email me to RSVP.  Everyone is welcome and feel free to bring friends!

Felt Heart Hair Binder Packaged

Hair Binder in Lily's Hair
The heart hair binder is made from die cutting felt and then hot gluing it together. It is attached to a ponytail binder.
Owl Pillow Boxes

Aren't these pillow boxes cute? They can be filled with candy or a small gift. Choose which color you would like to make! These owls were inspired by others I have seen online.

Fancy Favor Boxes
The Fancy Favor Boxes are made by die cutting the designer paper using the Big Shot. The heart is die cut using the heart from the Movers and Shapers Die. A transparent sheet is adhered over the heart opening to see the candy through it. These are easy to make and would be perfect for parties and weddings.

The hearts from the Candy Conversations stampe set were stamped in Cherry Cobbler and then punched out. The Hearts Adorning Accents folder was used to dry emboss hearts in the middle of the card. Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine is tied around the card.

Matchbook Closed

Matchbook Open
The matchbook was designed to hold an individual bag of candy. (Skittles were all we had in the house, but something with different packaging would match better!). The pig from Button Buddies was stamped in Melon Mambo and then a button was adhered for its nose. Melon Mambo Pom-pom Trim, which is available in the Clearance Rack, was adhered to the bottom. The inside holds the candy and the saying "hogs & kisses" was punched out with the word window punch and layered onto Certainly Celery cardstock punched from the Modern Label Punch.

Rainbow Birthday

Well, this is not quite all the colors of the rainbow, but close! I used the Fall to Layout 174 from the Clean and Simple blog found here. I stamped Happy Birthday from the Bring on the Cake stamp set in Lucky Limeade, Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, and Daffodil Delight. I layered the words onto black cardstock as it is fairly "busy" and needed something to ground it while making it stand out. Lucky Limeade Baker's Twine was tied around the card (can you tell I love Baker's Twine?!?). The designer paper is from the Big Top Birthday pack. The Cupcake Punch was used to punch out the cupcake. The bottom red portion of the cupcake was ran through the crimper and the icing was dry embossed using the Polka Dot embossing folder. The cherry on top was punched from Red Glimmer Paper.

Thanks for checking out my blog.

We are off to basketball games this weekend. I'll be back with projects for Valentine's Day tomorrow.

Button Buddies Snail

Two similar cards with just a few differences.  Can you tell what is different?!?  It reminds me of those games when I was younger and I had to circle what I saw was different between two pictures!  Anyway, on to the cards....The card layout is from Clean & Simple #172 found here and the colors used were from the color challenge at Stampin' Royalty SR#107 found here. The card base is Crumb Cake cardstock. I made the scallop rectangle by cutting two larger squares from the Scallop Square Duo die and then adhering them together to make a rectangle. The Lucky Limeade Bakers's Twine goes across where the two squares meet up and covers up the seam. The Lattice Embossing Folder was used to dry emboss. I stamped the snail from Button Buddies and then added the button. I couldn't decide which card I liked better...what is your favorite between the two?

Send Me Soaring

Are you tired of this stamp set yet?!? This card was created for the sketch challenge SSC238 at Stamping 411 found here. The base of the card is crumb cake cardstock and the ribbon is calypso coral ruffled ribbon. I inked up the kite stamp with black staz on and stamped on the Enchantment designer paper that will be available soon (January 24) from the sale-a-bration catalog. The clouds were punched from the cupcake punch and then embossed. I added punched flowers to the middle of the kites with a small pearl on each one.

XOXO

This is a very clean and simple card created for the challenge CCMC184 found here. I used Riding Hood Red as my base with a layer of Blushing Bride. The edgelit and adorning accent embossing folder was used on the bottom of the white cardstock. I die cut the X's and O's using the Timeless Type Junior Alphabet. Riding Hood Red pleated satin ribbon was added.

Ruffled Wedding Dress

My second post for the day!  I don't normally have two posts, but I had this idea in mind for the challenge on Freshly Made Sketches #17 found here and it is due by noon today. This card was made by stamping the dress from Love and Laughter in black and then cutting it out. I then used sticky strip on the bottom portion of the dress and ruffled vanilla seam binding. A pearl was added to the top of the dress and black ribbon was tied to define the top from the bottom. If I were to do this again, I would not place a plain piece of vanilla cardstock over the bottom of the dress as the ink does show through a little. I would also cut the right side of the dress so it wasn't "flowing out" but with the same angle as the left side.

Fabric Challenge

The challenge at Stampin' Royalty Challenge #106 found here was to use fabric in a project. I decided to make a flower bookmark. The flower was made by cutting circles from the Candy Cane Christmas fabric using the circle die for the Big Shot. I folded them in half and then half again and used a glue gun to hot glue them to a felt circle. It took four circles for each layer, and I did two layers for a total of eight circles.  I adhered the button on top with hot glue. The flower was then attached to the elastic by adhering it to a felt circle.  I sewed the elastic and covered up the sewn part with my felt circles.  (As I'm typing this, I realize I should have taken pictures of the back for you to see!) By using elastic, this will work for different size books as a book mark. In the picture, I put it around a clear case that I quickly decorated. I did try it on a book and it worked well to mark the page! Wouldn't this be a neat gift to receive?  I may have to make more up:)

Candy Conversations

These two cards are exactly the same except for the edgelit that was used. The cards use the Candy Conversation stamp set inked in wisteria wonder, lucky limeade and calypso coral. Pool party cardstock was die cut using the framelits and an embossed layer of hearts from adorning accents embossing folders was adhered over the pool party framelit. Pool party baker's twine was used to make a bow.  I love all the new colors of the baker's twine.

Double Digit B-day & SFF123011

This sketch is from Sketch Frenzy Friday 123011 found here. The tag and the number 10 are made using dies in the Big Shot. The turquoise card was ran through the Big Shot to emboss it using the Lattice Embossing Folder. I used some retired stamp sets for the b-ball, soccer ball and "champ." The other stamps are from the stamp set Extreme Elements. I made this card to give to Lily when she turns 10 in March. This may look like a "boy" card, but my girl is a "tomboy" and is proud of it. She loves basketball, soccer and bright colors, so I think this card is perfect for her.

Stamping 411 SSC#237

This card uses the sketch posted here for the Stamping 411 Challenge. The banner was made using paper from the Pocketful of Posies designer series paper. The Scallop Trim Border was used to make the white scallop border along the border. The flowers from the Button Buddies stamp set were stamped in Rich Razzleberry, Baja Breeze and Crumb Cake. A retired baja breeze corduroy button and a rich razzleberry button were added to the flowers.

CCMC183 Color Challenge

The color challenge found here was to use Soft Suede, Pool Party and Blushing Bride. The tree from Season of Friendship was stamped in Soft Suede and flowers were punched out of Pool Party and Blushing Bride cardstock with small pearls added to the center of each. The banner was made from the Petal Cone die.  Pool Party Baker's Twine is tied in the middle of the card.

Have a great day! If you are in MN, I hope you get outside to enjoy the weather!

One More Christmas Card

When I posted the stamped Christmas cards I received this year, I forgot to post this beauty!  This card was made by Julie.  The entire image and white card stock is glittered by (I think) embossing with iridescent ice.  Thanks, Julie!

CAS Card

Happy New Year!  Now that  Christmas is over, I'm thinking of Valentine's Day:)  This card is a very simple CAS card. I used the Hearts Embossing Folder from the Adorning Accents Embossing Folders found in the Occasions Mini Catalog. The hearts are from the Candy Conversations set in the mini catalog and were stamped in Calypso Coral ink and then punched out using the small heart punch. Calypso Coral baker's twine was used to tie a bow.

Thanks for stopping!
